Dear Becky and Family:
I am so sorry for your loss; the loss of your husband, father, best friend. Please know I'm thinking of you and sending hugs and prayers your way.
Peter was a remarkable person, doing so much for others and to make the community a better place. Peter will not be forgotten and there is much to carry on his legacy.
You are both true community leaders and you inspire others to do great things.
Sending my sincere condolences.....
Love,
Lori

I extend my condolences to the Van de Water family. I got to know Peter when he worked with my Community Services inmate crew from Riverview CF on Falls Island. As we ran into each other over the years, it was always like running into an old friend. His passion for his community never wavered. It was a pleasure to know him.

Tom and Betsy, I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. You're dad contributed so much to our little community of Canton, and I'm sure so much to your lives as well. You're in my thoughts and prayers.

In the event the family would prefer a more recent headshot of Pete, we wanted to make sure they had this one which our fraternity took of him in 2006. What a great and loyal Beta! -Martin Cobb, Dir. of Communication

Dear Becky and Family,
Your sadness, and ours too, for the loss of our friend Peter is mitigated by many gains, especially the happy thoughts we have of his positive and joyful life of contributions to the community, the North Country and to his SLU alma mater. Peter was a true and consummate sportsman and outdoorsman, caring about the Adirondacks and the environment, as a participating enthusiast on the waters and trails. He was active in the economic development of the Canton community, in the issues of caring for people and their needs when he ran for public office, and in our area's history and culture via the County Historical Association, TAUNY and the Grasse River Heritage group. And importantly, Peter was dedicated to improving and assisting in the education of all ages of students. We will miss Peter and remember his many beneficial attributes in the creative and lasting marks he left in his footsteps.
With Condolences and Memories,
Brad and Marilyn Mintener, Canton
