Obituary of Ruby D. Latimer

Ruby D. Latimer, 86, formerly of 35 Riverside Drive and 1132 SH 68, died Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at Maplewood Campus, where she had been a resident since May 2010. A graveside service will be in Crary Mills Cemetery in the near futureand will be announced by the Lawrence Funeral Home, Canton. There will be no calling hours at the funeral home. If friends so desire, contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice. Ruby was the Loving Mother of, a daughter, Patricia (Robert) Satalich of Larchmont, NY; three sons, Michael (Mary) Latimer of Pierrepont, Donald Latimer of Canton and Alan (Shannon) Latimer of Russell and beloved grandmother of six grandchildren. She was also survived by several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband James and her daughter-in-law, Kathryn. Born Aug 2, 1927 in Lisbon, NY she was a daughter of the late Roy J. and Nellie (Huntley) Dandy. She graduated Canton High in 1944 and later from Ogdensburg Business School in 1945. On Jan 10, 1957, she married James L. Latimer in Crary Mills Church with Rev. Martin Ives as celebrant. Ruby retired from St. Lawrence National Bank (Community Bank) in 1958. She and her husband ran a dairy farm on the Pierrepont Road from 1958-1986. She also served as a Sunday school teacher at Crary Mills Church and was a leader of the Husky Workers 4-H Club.
