Morley-- Joyce A. Rowen, 80, of County Rte 14, Morley, died Thursday, March 23, 2017 at Maplewood Campus, where she was a resident since September 2016. A "Celebration of Life" will be held on Friday, March 31st at 11:00 AM​ in the Morley Wesleyan Church. Joyce was born, April 14, 1936, in Ogdensburg, NY, a twin daughter of the late, John & Anna Hurst Bush. On April 6, 1959, she married, Richard A. Rowen in Cobbleskill, NY. The couple ran the Rowen Family Farm in Lisbon until their retirement. Joyce also worked as a nurses aide at Moongate Nursing Home, Canton for a number of years. Surviving are her husband of nearly 59 years, Richard A. Rowen of Morley; her four children, Kimberly (Ed) Sisk of Morley, Karen (Dan) Foster of Canton, Kevin (Gina) Rowen of Lisbon and Kayla (Bryan) Rayburn of Canton; eight grandchildren, Levi (Victoria) Sisk and Olivia Sisk, Corey and Christy Foster, Coleman and Carlie Whitman and Joshua and Nicholas Rayburn; a great grandson, Emmett Rowen Sisk; a sister, Lillian Cummings; a brother-in-law, Dale McDonald and a number of nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters Hazel, Mary,Theresa, her twin sister Joy and her brother Dale. Joyce enjoyed raising her family on the farm, loved her birds, especially hummingbirds, her flowers, camping and precious time spent with family. ​Memorial contributions may be sent to the Morley Fire Department, Maplewood Campus Activities Department, or a charity of one's choice.
