I am sorry to learn about the sad demise of my friend and fellow researcher Prof Chanchal Singh.Although we were not in touch for many years now(as we both had retired) we used to meet earlier very often here in India.He used to visit IIT Delhi and Delhi University often and do collaborative research work with us.We have written number of research papers together.
Prof Chancal was a perfect gentleman and a true friend.He used to encourage young researchers here in India for doing quality research and was very helpful to them.He was a great teacher as well and eager to discuss new ideas with others.He has made significant contributions in the area of Optimization Theory and Statistics.
We pray to the ALMIGHTY to rest his soul in peace.

Harpal, Shaili, Michelle & family,
Our entire family are saddened with the loss of Mr. Singh. This must be a very difficult time and our hearts go out to all of you. We all have numerous fond memories through our many years of our neighbors, The Singhs, and Mr. Singh especially. He could always eat hotter food than we could (even though I tried), always had a smile for everyone that he met and is truly one of the nicest people that I have met in my lifetime. I/we are honored and blessed to have been lucky enough to have known Mr. Singh. He will be missed and will be someone who will be remembered fondly, always.

Dear Singh family:
Your family used to live next to us on main street in Canton. I remember your father as being very kind, friendly, and incredibly smart. He would always make a point of yelling 'hi Lori' to me whenever he would see me outside playing or riding my bike. I am so sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
