Obituary of Bonita L. Tynon Simmons

Ogdensburg—

Bonita L. Tynon “Bonnie” Simmons, 70, of Albany Avenue, Ogdensburg, died Saturday, July 1, 2017, at Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center, Ogdensburg.

Her funeral will be held at Lawrence Funeral Home & Cremation Serivces, 21 Park Street, Canton on Thursday, July 6th at 2:15 PM with Robert LaClair officiating.  The family will receive friends from Noon to 2:00PM  prior to her funeral.  Burial will be in Mount Alone Cemetery.

She was born October 4, 1946, in Ogdensburg, NY, a daughter of the late, William & Mayme (Williams) Tynon.  She attended Ogdensburg and Heuvelton Schools.

On December 17, 1965, in Ogdensburg, she married Ashton William “Bucky” Simmons.  The marriage later was dissolved.

Bonnie had worked for Newell’s in Ogdensburg and previously for Newberry’s in Canton.  She was a loving mother raising a daughter and four boys.

She is survived by her children, Ashton “Tim” Simmons of Waddington, Stacy (Crystal) Simmons of DeKalb Jct., Sharlene (Hermon) Simmons of Heuvelton, Ryan (Melissa LaRock) Simmons of Ogdensburg and Aaron Simmons of Ogdensburg.  She is also survived by numerous grandchildren.

Bonnie was predeceased by a son, Rory ,as well as, four brothers and one sister.

Some of her interests and hobbies were fishing, baking, reading, camping, collecting American Indian artwork and décor and most definitely gatherings with friends and family.
