Obituary of Roy A. Skiff, Jr.

Roy A. Skiff, Jr., affectionately known as "JR", died unexpectedly at his home on December 3, 2017.  He was 56.
Friends may call at the Lawrence Funeral Home, Canton from 5-8 PM on Wednesday, December 6th. Graveside services will be Thursday, December 7, 2017 at 11:00 AM in North Russell Cemetery.  A time of fellowship will follow at GT's Family Restaurant in Russell at 1:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, monetary donations may be made to Lawrence Funeral Home, 21 Park Street, Canton, NY 13617.

"JR" was born October 13, 1961, in Potsdam, NY, a son of the late, Roy A., Sr. and Pauline (Butterfield) Skiff.

He was owner/operator of JR's General Contracting, Russell.  Previously he worked for J.A. Randi Construction, Coakley's True Value, Bill Collins Mobil and Martin's Beer Plant.

He was a member of the Potsdam Elks Lodge, VFW #1231 Men's Auxillary and Rock Pond Hunting Club.

Surviving are his daughter, Tasha; his companion, Linda Anson; his siblings, Harold (Theresa) Skiff, Joan (Randy) Jackson, Janice (Bill) Clough), Sherry (Rusty Cota) Hamilton and Delta Ramsay; numerous nieces and nephews; his life long friends, the Jake & Elevene Corbine Family, to whom he was considered a son, brother and uncle.

Besides being a gifted contractor and "jack of all trades", JR enjoyed hunting and fishing, camping, shuffleboard and socializing with his numerous friends.  He will surely be missed.
