Obituary of Ellis Murray Pike
Canton-
Ellis Murray Pike , 79, of Potter Road, Canton, died peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, December 17, 2017 at Maplewood Campus, where he had been a resident since December 2016.
There will not be any services at this time. Lawrence Funeral Home & Cremation Services has been entrusted with Ellis’ care and arrangements.
Ellis was born Aug 8, 1938, in Canton, NY, a son of the late Harvey K., Sr. & Florence B. (Parks) Pike. He was a 1957 graduate of Canton High School and Canton ATC in 1959, where he was a member of ZAP Fraternity House.
On July 15, 1961, he married Ruth Ann Aul in Niagara Falls, NY with Rev. Fred W. House as celebrant.
Ellis was the owner of Pike’s Auto in Canton for many years and was known for his expertise in foreign vehicles. He previously operated the ESSO Station, Pike's Chevron and Mostly Foreign on the Cowen Road in Canton.
Surviving are his wife, Ruth Ann of Canton; a daughter, Kathy A. (Dan) Spaeth of Harrah, OK; two sons, Robert S. Pike and Richard E. Pike and companion Michelle Pharoah, all of Canton; a daughter-in-law, Susan Pike of Canton; three grandchildren, Hannah Rene' Pike of Canton, Vanessa A. Spaeth and Jonathan Spaeth of Harrah, OK.
He was predeceased by his brothers, Harvey, Jr. and Jerry Pike.
Ellis enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and travel.
