Obituary of Lillian G. Gollinger

Pierrepont—

Lillian Grace Gollinger, 88, of County Rte 24, died Saturday, December 30, 2017 at Canton-Potsdam Hospital, while surrounded by her loving family.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 from 1-3 & 5-7 PM at Lawrence Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 21 Park Street, Canton.  Her funeral will be Thursday, January 4th at 11:00 AM at the funeral home.  Burial will be in Beech Plains Cemetery in the spring.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the Pierrepont Volunteer Fire Department.

Born December 11, 1929, in Pitcairn, NY, she was a daughter of the late Arthur & Grace Farr Porter and attended various North Country Schools.

She married William Robert “Bob” Gollinger on June 13, 1953.  Lillian was a proud homemaker raising eleven children and helping her husband on the farm.   Lillian was very independent.  She enjoyed sewing flower gardening and doing cross-word puzzles.

Lillian is survived by six sons and daughters-in-law, Gary & Shirley, Rick & Lena, Tom & Robin, Kevin & Tammy and Scott and Angela all of Pierrepont and Steve & Kim of Degrasse; four daughters and sons-in-law, Bonnie & Richard Ashley of Pierrepont, Cindy & Reggie Murdie of Canton, Janet & David Church of Russell and Jill & Rory Mouthorp of Canton; one brother, Billy & Susie Porter of Gouverneur, three sisters, Patricia Reed of Trout Lake, Carol Felt of Hammond and Sally Hayes of Groton, NY; 34 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.

She was pre-deceased by a daughter, Donna; a son, Jeffrey; a grandson, Eric Murdie; a great-grandson, Ryan Rivers; three brothers, Mohan, Irvin and Benny Porter; and two sisters, Margaret Witford and Evelyn Richards.
