Obituary of Frederick J. Gilbo

Formerly of Canton—

Frederick J. Gilbo, 62, of Heuvelton, formerly of Canton, died, Tuesday , April 3, 2018, at Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center in Ogdensburg.

He was born October 9, 1955, in Canton, NY, a son of the late, Roland J. & Grace McLellan Gilbo.  He attended Canton Schools and was married to Cheryl Gemmill. 

Fred was a Handy Man/ Contractor in Canton for many years, doing landscaping and home repairs.

Surviving are his three sons, Andrew Gilbo of Oswego, Roger (Crystal) Gemmill of Ogdensburg and Chris (Shameka) Monroe of Parishville; four brothers, Joseph of Russell, Richard of Morristown, Michael of Gouverneur and Patrick Gilbo; numerous grandchildren. He is also survived by David LaSeige of Heuvelton and Cory LaSeige of AZ, to who he was their guardian and raised as sons.

He was predeceased by two sisters and a brother.

Fred loved his dogs and always enjoyed a good day of fishing.

The family will receive friends at Lawrence Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 21 Park Street, Canton on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 from 10 AM to 12 Noon with a memorial service to follow.  Burial will be held privately in Fairview Cemetery, Canton.

Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Lawrence County Cancer Fund, St. Lawrence Valley SPCA or to Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center.
