Obituary of Jeffrey Alan Jones
Norfolk—
Jeffrey A. “Jonsey” Jones, 56, of State Hwy 56, Norfolk, died Thursday, September 27, 2018, at his home after a battle with ALS.
A graveside service with Military Honors will be held on Monday, October 1st at 10:30 AM in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Canton. The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 30th from 4-7 PM at Lawrence Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Canton.

Jeffrey was born November 11, 1961, in Potsdam, NY, a son of Patricia “Ann” (Ritchie) Jones and the late Robert Jones (1974). He graduated from Canton High School in 1979 and enlisted in the US Air Force in 1982, where he served as a Component Repair Specialist working on various aircrafts until his honorable discharge in 1986.
Jeffrey was a self-employed computer technician owning and operating Jonsey’s Tech Solutions.
Surviving are his sons, Robert and Jeff Jones of Canton; his daughters, Crystal Jones and Valerie Vansteenburg, both of Binghamton, NY; a brother, Mike Jones of Massena; a sister, Julie Jones of Canton; and four grandchildren, Lucas, Madison, Juelian and Patience.
Jeffrey was married to Brenda (Kennel) Jones, which resulted in friendship and in his late years was lovingly cared for by Donna Kaiser.
He was also predeceased by his faithful companion, “Wahya”.
Jeff was an associate member of Canton VFW Post #1230 and member of Massena AMVETS. He was a previous member of Canton Fire & Rescue, where he volunteered as an EMT and firefighter for many years.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing, as well as, helping his friends and neighbors with their projects. He will also be remembered for his love of Huskies.
