Obituary of Rouette Phylis McMasters

Canton—

Rouette P. (Rett) McMasters, 67,of Canton, beloved mother, sister and friend passed away on November 9, 2018 at her home.

Memorial prayers will be held on Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at 6:00 PM at Lawrence Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Canton.  Interment will be held privately.

Rouette was born March 15, 1951, in Canton, NY, a daughter of the late, Philip D. & Emma McMasters.  She lived her life in Canton, graduating from Canton Central School in 1970.  She married Earl Sanderson in 1973.  Although the marriage ended in divorce the two remained friends until Mr. Sanderson’s passing in 2006.

Rouette worked at McMasters Printing with her father until moving on to SUNY Canton where she worked in the printing department.  Later she worked for ACCO brands in Ogdensburg, retiring in 2005. 

Rouette’s proudest accomplishment was being mother to her only child, Amanda and grandmother to Joseph Philip & Lily Margaret Cantiello.  In addition to her daughter, son-in-law, Joseph and the twin grandchildren, she is survived by her companion Randy Bouchey of Canton; her sisters, Katherine (Steven) Vetter of Warners, NY, Peggy (Stephen) McBath and brother, Philip McMasters all of Canton; nieces, Emma Jayne, Molly McMasters and nephews, Albert and Robert Vetter.

She especially enjoyed precious time with family reading, cooking, baking and socializing with friends.

Memorial contributions are strongly suggested to St. Jude’s Childrens Hospital; Canton Fire & Rescue or to Canton Free Library.
