Obituary of Amy Alyce Whisher
Canton—
Amy K. Whisher, 61, of County Rte 27, Canton, died December 8, 2018 at her home while under the care of her husband, Jeffrey.
Amy was born October 15, 1957, in Saranac Lake and was a daughter of Charles & Doris Meury Keough. She was the youngest of her two sisters, MaryLou and Lynn Keough.
Amy graduated from Saranac Lake High in 1975. She continued her education at North Country Community College and Paul Smiths, graduating with honors in 1978 with an Associate’s Degree in Applied Science in Hotel Management. Amy was on the Dean’s List each semester.
She continued her training, working in restaurants in Lake Placid. Subsequently, she became a Teacher’s Assistant at BOCES Adirondack Educational Center.
More recently, Amy was very active in training and breeding dogs. Her breed of choice was the Golden Retriever. Amy and her husband, Jeff, followed a serious breeding program at Brygold Kennel.
Amy was a giving person, participating in many community service events and clubs. Her primary focus was Kiwanis.
She was a kind-hearted, loving person. Most people found her to be a pleasure. Her husband, Jeff had many warm, wonderful years with her. He will miss her love and companionship.
She was a spectacular person!
Services were held privately. Amy’s care and arrangements were entrusted to Lawrence Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Canton.
