Canton—

Mary D. Todd, 82, of County Route 25, Canton, died Friday, March 22, 2019, at her home while under the care of her loving husband and Hospice & Palliative Care.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, March 25, from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at Lawrence Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Canton.  Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, March 26 at 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church, Main Street, Canton with Pastor Fred Sykes officiating.

Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Canton.

Memorial Contributions are suggested to either Canton First Baptist Church or to the Alzheimer’s Association.

Mary was born March 31, 1936, in Hermon, NY and was a daughter of the late, Rollie & Evelene (Shaw) Durham.  She was a 1956 graduate of Hermon High School and retired from Canton High School, where she worked in the cafeteria for 20 years.  Previously she worked at McCarthy’s Restaurant and at the bowling alley.

On June 29, 1957 she married Richard K. Todd in the Hermon Baptist Church.  The couple were married nearly 62 years.

She is survived by her husband Richard K. of Canton; three children, Joye (James) Meenan of Colton, Mickey (Wendy) Todd of Homer, AK and Rusty (Christina) Todd of Nampa, ID; a sister, Nettie (Tom) Clarke of Russell; two brothers, Judson (Clemis) Durham of Russell and James (Patti LaRock) Durham of Colton; three grandchildren, Nikole Meenan Downing, Rylyn Todd and Morgan Todd; and two great-grandchildren, Ryan & Gracie Downing.

She was predeceased by a grandson, Ryan Meenan and siblings, Emma Dominie, Viola Bender and Paul, Carl and Edwin Durham.

Mary was an active and devoted member at First Baptist Church, Canton, the Senior Citizens Exercise Class and had bowled on a number of leagues in the area.  She enjoyed being outdoors walking and keeping busy.  Some of her hobbies and interests were, doing crafts and painting; boating, bowling, traveling with her husband, visiting baseball parks, tending to her flower beds and feeding the ducks at Higley.  Mary was always willing to give a helping hand to those in need.  She was a giver.  She was especially a devoted Wife and Mother.
