Obituary of Charles Fellnor
Canton—
Charles “Chuck” Fellnor, 90, of Barnes Road, Canton, died peacefully in his sleep in his home on Monday, April 8, 2019.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, April 12 at 11:00 AM in Fairview Cemetery, Canton with Rev. Michael H. Terrell officiating. A time of food and fellowship will be held in the lower level at Canton United Methodist Church on Court Street on Saturday, May 18 at 1:00 PM.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Canton Fire & Rescue or to Potsdam Humane Society.
Chuck was born July 16, 1928, in Trenton, NJ. A son of the late John & Catherine (Gilk) Fellnor, he joined the US Navy on FEB 15, 1946 to FEB 14, 1948 and then the Nava Reserves from JAN 14, 1948 to NOV 16, 1955.
On July 24, 1948, he married the late, Lorraine Hoffman, who died September 27, 2000.
On June 15, 2002, he married Beatrice Frances (Bryant) Adams Ferrell in the Norfolk United Methodist Church with Rev. Richard Lenz as celebrant.
Chuck was a retired sheet metal worker for the Steel Worker’s Union based in Houston, TX.
Surviving are his wife, “Bea” of Canton; a grandson, Ronnie (Mary) Jacobs; one great grandchild, three great-great grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; five nieces and three nephews.
In addition to his first wife, he is predeceased by a daughter, Katherine who died July 2000 and two brothers, Anthony (Mary) Fellnor and John (Ann) Fellnor.
Chuck was a member of the Massena, Lisbon and Canton Senior Citizens, What Cheer Lodge F & AM, Norwood, was a past Patron of Order of Eastern Star, Empire Hermon #68, and the Potsdam American Legion.
He moved from Houston, TX in 1984 to the Massena area and then to Canton in 2002.
Chuck enjoyed fishing, hunting, bowling, playing cards, dancing and watching Sports on TV. He also enjoyed gardening and had beautiful flower beds.
