Obituary of Arnold L. Sharlow

Crary Mills – Arnold L. "Arnie" Sharlow, 63, of Potter Road, Canton, died Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at his home while under the care of his loving family and Hospice. The family will receive friends on Friday, October 10th from 2-4 & 6-8 at the Lawrence Funeral Home, Canton. Funeral services will be Saturday at 10:00 AM at the funeral home with Pastor Helen Beck officiating. Burial will follow in Crary Mills Cemetery. Arnie was born October 15, 1950, in Potsdam, NY, a son of Carol Weller Sharlow of Parishville and the late, Bernard Sharlow. He attended Canton Central School. Over the years, he was employed as an auto body technician for Mace Motors, Canton, Art's Used Car, Waddington and most recently retiring from Mort Backus on the Ogdensburg-Canton Road. Arnie also had his own shop for a time. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 44 years, Gail; one daughter, Tabitha McCuen and husband Tom of Potsdam; two sons, Arnold, Jr. and wife Patty and Darren and wife Heather of Rennselaer Falls; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a sister and brother-in-law, Beverly and John Mitchell of Parishville; a brother and sister-in-law, Dale and Patricia Sharlow of Nicholvill; his mother-in-law, Margaret Moulton of Crary Mills and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. In addition to his father, he was predeceased by a brother, Ulla Sharlow. Some of Arnie's hobbies and interests were, working on and restoring old cars, snowmobiling, going to the casino, camping and especially spending time with his kids and grandkids.
