Dear Loved Ones, and My Neighbor,
I am so sorry to hear the news about your recent loss of a loved family member.
With my sincere condolences, I write you today. Your family are in my thoughts
and prayers. I am sending you lots of love, and comfort and a sincere hope that
you can find peace at this hurtful time. Remember, Jesus even shed tears for his
friend “Lazarus" in the Bible so death is a very hurtful enemy of the living.
(Revelation 21:1-4)
I found comfort with my mothers lost by reading scriptures. I received a letter
same as this one, with a similar message. I found reading and searching for God
and his promises helped. I visited a website (JW.ORG) and It is full of
scriptures of Hope and information about the Bible. I loved the resurrection
hope. I am sure you will as well.
With all my prayers to all your loved ones
Sincerely Yours,
Helen West

15 years ago, Mark and I and our two children needed a place to live. We met with Joe, and he built us a house. It is a Randi Original, mirroring its builder; fine and beautiful with a solid, quality core. We love our house. It is cool in the summer and warm in the winter. It is full of light and exactly fits our needs and personality. We walk every day on floors Joe made, sit on the porch Joe built, and grab our morning bowl of cereal from the pantry Joe insisted on putting in, because he knew full well how much we needed it. We mourn the loss of such a fine man and weep with his beloved family. Our house stands as a testament to the kind of man Joe was, and we are deeply proud to call it ours and to tell people, "Yes, we live in a Randi original". Much love to Cindy, Joe, and Jessica.

Dear Cindy, Jessica, and Joey,
When I first met Joe way back in the 1970's at a sawmill job in Potsdam, we hit it off immediately. Over the next several decades we fished together, hiked up mountains together, went snowshoeing, and talked about everything under the sun while doing so. All throughout that time, Karen and I always looked forward to the many many times when we got together with Joe and Cindy for dinner, laughs, and good conversation.
Whenever I happen to bring up Joe's name to someone, almost the first thing anyone says is what a nice guy he was. Yes, Joe was a great guy, honest, friendly, and caring. His family was his main source of happiness and pride. Joe always put other people before himself. If your were fortunate enough to have Joe as your friend, he was there for you no matter what. We admired Joe for his many special qualities and we will miss him greatly.
With deepest sympathy & many fond memories,
Joe and Karen Berner

We are grieved by Joe Randi's death. He was a kind and caring friend whose gentle way and wry smile long blessed us.
Joe's devotion to Cindy is exemplified in his support for Little School and building the facility that would make her service for so many children possible. They were a true team whose mutual support was a great inspiration.
Joe's love for Cindy, Joe(y) and Jessica was clear. It extended to how he treated the employees of J. A. Randi Construction, whose lives were often not easy, and who were blessed by their boss's flexibility and understanding.
Joe was a strong supporter of First Presbyterian Church, Potsdam. His expertise and honesty always inspired trust and confidence. If he said a particular project could be done, we knew it was not only possible but would be done well and be a credit to the work and mission of the church. He was always available for any building emergency.
Our lives were better and brighter for the gift of Joe Randi's example and friendship.

Dear Cindy, Joe Jr and Jessica,
I'm very saddened to hear about Joe and my sincere condolences are with the entire family. I remember Joe employed Jason, Joe Jr and I to help renovate an old farm house one time I was on break from college. I can't remember how much he paid us, and that makes the experience is what mattered. What brings this memory back is that Joe was just an enjoyable person to be around; humble, hard working, and he always found a way to say something that would make you laugh. I am glad to have many other memories of him and the Randi Family growing up.
Sincerely,
Eric Nagel

Dear dear Cindy and family,
I feel fortunate that I was able to know you and Joe for the past few years during the Rushton Races and up at the Paul Smith's Wooden Canoe Heritage Annual event. He was a true environmentalist and a friend to many. His kindness to Frank White (97) was a gift and Frank is sadden at Joe's passing. Just last weekend we were all down at Taylor Park celebrating J. Henry Rushton 54th Rushton weekend and talking about continuing the races. Joe was one of the most giving, humble men I have known and will miss his presence in the community. Cindy, I hope when you are ready to take a paddle down the Grasse, a river I believe Joe loved, to enjoy the life that Joe cherished. I also believe he and all the good people in this life are in a better place and watching over you all and especially the Grandchildren. I remember seeing the cradle he built for his first Grandson in the shape of a boat... God speed Joe....

Dear Cindy and Family -
Joe was one of the truly good guys in this world. Joe was also a talented, hard-working craftsman. Brad just talked with him the other day about the two Morris antique wooden canoes he had rehabed and was taking over to Paul Smith's College for the Wooden Canoe Heritage Association Assembly this Summer. We worked on several WCHA exhibits together and also co-chaired, with him, the Canton Rushton 50th Birthday Races canoe exhibit at the Canton pavilion. Joe loved high quality work and his family. Our prayers are with you- Brad and Mariyn Mintener, Canton
