Obituary of James A. Coffey

James A. "Jim" Coffey, 76, of Churchill Street, Pyrites died Sunday, May 24, 2015, at Canton-Potsdam Hospital.
Calling hours will be Wednesday, May 27th at Lawrence Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 21 Park Street, Canton. His funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 28th at 10:30 AM with Rev. Jane Doxtater officiating.
Jim was born December 17, 1938 in Hermon, NY. He was a son of the late Maitland & Lena (Thompson) Coffey and he attended Hermon School.
On February 27, 1959, he married his beloved Joanne L. Capalario at the First Baptist Church in Hermon with Rev. Stone as the celebrant.
Jim worked as a Crusher Operator for Hanson Agregates in Ogdensburg from 1967-2000. Prior to that he worked at Martin's Beer Plant starting in 1959.
Jim is survived by his wife, Joanne; his two sons and three daughters, Timothy (Phyllis) Coffey, Susan (Joseph) Tresidder, Jayne (Royce) Corbine, Joseph Coffey & Jamie Chase and Peggy Brown; his one brother, Robert "John" Coffey and three daughters, Madelyn Coffey, Shirley Coffey and Jeanette Reil; and numerous grandchildren.
He was predeceased by infant son, Rusty Wayne Coffey; son-in-law, Kenny Brown, five brothers, Sherman "P.G." Coffey, Norville "Peanut" Coffey, Bernard "Bud" Coffey, Frederick "Fred" Coffey and Richard "Dick" Coffey and a sister, Patricia Burch.
Jim enjoyed playing horseshoes, shuffleboard, darts, cards, shooting pool, fishing, hunting, gambling and socializing. Jim was very fond of time spent with his family and grandkids.
