Coach Casey was perhaps the most humble faculty member I ever encountered in my CHS years. He was so genuinely nice to everyone he encountered. He was my 7th and 8th grade coach and he had a very positive impact on my basketball development. He touched many lives and will be missed.

I am so sorry to learn of the loss of Pat. As a child I was friends with his younger brother Brian and spent a lot of time at their home. He was also a good friend to my Dad, Tony Zasa Sr. and they often played basketball together. He was my 7th grade Social Studies teacher and I still remember being in his classroom. My sincerest condolences to his wonderful family.

Pat was always a good friend of mine in Potsdam- my sincere condolences to you. I especially remember basketball games, me cheering him on as a PHS cheerleader - he was Great!
Reading about him now just solidifies his innate goodness for me.

I was in Pat’s high school class, and a kinder, gentler gentleman than he would be hard to find. I see from the lovely video that he never lost that special smile and that his family was always his priority. My condolences to his family.

Mr. Casey was my ninth grade Social Studies teacher at Parishville -Hopkinton Central School. I greatly respected him as a teacher. Although other teachers also influenced me to become a teacher, he was the biggest reason why I particularly wanted to specialize in global geography- the subject he taught my class. Our paths crossed many times on the athletic field-he as a referee and I as a coach. We would often engage in conversations centered around family and memories of those old school days, which also involved his brother, Larry, with whom I taught with at Morristown. Not only was he a great person, he was an exceptional teacher. May you take comfort in the many memories you shared.

My condolences to the family of Pat. I umpired high school baseball with Pat in the 70s. Pat umpired softball games when I was coaching at Hermon-Dekalb. I also held the highest respect for Pat. He was always very professional on the field and always asked about my father who also umpired baseball with him. May you Rest In Peace Pat Casey.

Terry and Martha Hammill send our condolences to the Pat Casey Family. Pat was a fellow graduate from SUNY-Potsdam, and a fellow soccer player during our time there. His life of community involvement was a hallmark for all, and an example of how much he will be missed by all of the people he touched during his life. To the Casey children, your dad was a great man!

I got to know Pat through my husband Roger. They shared many years of school and sports, and had a really strong friendship.
Over many years that connection grew. When Roger died, Pat continued to be his friend by remembering the date of his passing. It meant so much to me.
I like to think they’re golfing together, or talking sports.
Rest well, dear friend.
