Obituary of Ethel Rose Bulluck Fountain

Ethel Rose Bulluck “Bubbles” Fountain, 91, of 37 Riverside Drive, Canton, died July 13, 2015 at her home while under the loving care of her family. The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 16, from 4-6 Pm at Lawrence Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 21 Park Street, Canton. Her Memorial Service will follow at 6:15 PM at the funeral home with Rev. Robert Schirmer officiating. Burial will be at a later date. Ethel was born March 23, 1924 in Clare, NY, a daughter of Orson and Bessie (Crawford) Bulluck. She worked for St. Lawrence University from the mid 1960’s to the mid 1980’s. In April of 1947, she married the late, Junior Basil Fountain. Junior died July 1, 1994. She is survived by three daughters, Kathy (Thomas) Whitmarsh of Canton, Susan Fountain and Laurie Fountain of Canton; a son, Basil Fountain of West Pierrepont; a sister, Lena Paro of Riverledge Nursing Hom, Ogdensburg; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as, several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a son, Bruce Law and daughter-in-law, Arvilla Lowry Fountain. Ethel enjoyed playing “Pedro”, writing short stories, poems and letters to the newspaper. She also belonged to the Writer’s Club at Canton Free Library, especially in the 1990’s.
