I am so sorry for the loss of Ed. My son, Donnie, and myself had gotten to know Ed when we moved up to the Orebed Road into what was called the Roach House in Pierrepont, in the late fall of around 1985. My son (Donnie) was four at the time. I was out shoveling and Ed, who lived just up the road, introduced himself & offered to help me shovel put my driveway. Donnie & I had many enjoyable visits with Ed & greatly admired the way in which he chose to live his life, splitting his own wood, drawing his own water, listening to his music, taking care of his beloved cat and so on. I was particularly touched when he showed my son how to investigate & appreciate nature & gave him a small hand microscope. I know that Donnie treasures these memories of this very kind intellect & gentleman, as I do.
