Obituary of Patricia A Matthews

Formerly of Canton- Patricia A. Matthews, 71, formerly of Canton died Tuesday, July 14, 2020 at Massena Memorial Hospital after a brief stay. A graveside service will be held on Friday, July 24 at 2:00 PM in Beech Plains Cemetery, West Pierrepont. Memorial contributions are suggested to Lawrence Funeral Home, 21 Park Street, Canton, NY 13617. Lawrence Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Canton has been entrusted with Patricia’s care and arrangements. Born September 6, 1948 in Canton, NY, Patricia was a daughter of Hazel (Moore) Matthews and the late Merton E. Matthews. She was a graduate of Knox Memorial, Russell in 1967. Patricia worked for Canton Dairy Queen in the late 60’s; at Sofro Fabrics in Syracuse in the 70’s and at Dick and Jane Ross General Store in St. Regis Falls in the 80’s. She later cleaned homes for families. In addition to her mother, Hazel Matthews of Degrasse, she is survived by a daughter, Lori Ann Matthews of St. Regis Falls; two sisters, Donna (Robert) McBroom of Dayton, OH and Brenda (Dennis) Ashley of Degrasse; three grandchildren, Haylie Luv Matthews, Erica Bell Gonzalez and Jayce Lyric French; three nieces and two nephews.
