Obituary of Robert F. Martin, Sr.

Clare – Robert F. Martin, Sr., 72, of County Route 27, Clare, NY, died at his home on Monday, September 1, 2015. His Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, September 5th at 1:00 PM with Pastor Matthew Drake of the First United Pentecostal Church, Jacksonville, GA officiating. Calling hours will follow the service until 3:00 PM. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. "Bob" was born April 19, 1943, in Elizabethtown, NY and was a son of the late, Robert C. & Ethel VanHyning Martin. On February 24, 2001, he married Atonda Hance at their home in Russell, Ny with Pastor Bill Huckle as celebrant. A prior marriage to Monique ended in divorce. Most recently Bob was the Code Enforcement Officer for the Town of Clare for 20 years. Earlier he was self-employed in Texas and also worked for Luck Bros., Massena, NY as a brick layer. In addition to his wife, Atonda, he is survived by three sons, Robert C. (MaryAnn) Martin of TX, Wane A. (Caroline) of U.K., Zachary R. Martin of Potsdam; two step-sons, Herbert Moore of Ogdensburg, Quintin Moore of Tupper Lake and one step-daughter, Nanette Moore of Hermon; one brother, Arthur Martin of Hilton, NY; four sisters, Grace (Ed) Beaulieau of AR, Nel (Thom) Sanders of MO, and Abby Martin of CT; thirteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was also predeceased by a sister, Thea Lawton. Bob enjoyed hunting, fishing and time spent with family and friends.
