Obituary of Odena M. Caswell

Canton--- Odena M. Caswell, 78, formerly West Pierrepont, died Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at Maplewood Campus, where she was a resident since May 2013. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, Feb 2nd from 4-6 PM at Lawrence Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 21 Park Street, Canton. Her funeral service will be celebrated, Wednesday, Feb. 3rd at 10:30 AM. Burial will be in Beech Plains Cemetery. Odena was born Feb 16, 1937, in Ogdensburg, NY, a daughter of the late, Joseph and Walda Perricca Stiles. She graduated Madrid High School and on May 14, 1958 she married Malcolm Caswell. Mr. Caswell died in 2001. Odena had been a waitress and hostess for The Treadway and the University Inn, a waitress at the Canton Diner and worked in advertising/ sales for Newton Manufacturing Company. Odena is survived by her three daughters and husbands, Vickie L. (Douglas) Manning of Russell, Rhonda J. (Rick)Council of Garden Grove, CA and Lory D. Richard and husband Troy Burchell of Canton; ten grandchildren, Melanie, Lucas, Jamie and Sarah Manning; Tyson Council, Tara Hull, Briana McBride; Matthew, Richard and Mark Richard and Jerod Burchell; several great-grandhildren; one brother, Ray Stiles of Madrid; three sisters, Mary Jane Gies of South Berlin, NY, Gloria Jarvis of Massena and Kathy Smith of Madrid. She was also predeceased by a brother Jerry Stiles. Odena belonged to Canton TOPS #102, WIBC Bowling League at Gray Lanes, the Re-Treads Motorcycle Club and the Snow Skippers Snowmobile Club. Odena enjoyed dancing with her husband bowling and motorcycling, working in the woods, her flower gardens, feeding the birds, her pets and precious time spent with her grandchildren and family.
