Canton— Dolly Scott Miller, 94, of Eddy-Pyrites Road, Canton, died Thursday, March 3, 2016 at Maplewood Campus, where she had been a resident sine December of 2015. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, March 6th from 2:00 to 5:00 PM at Lawrence Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 21 Park Street, Canton. Her funeral will be held on Monday, March 7th at 10:30 AM at the funeral home with Pastor Donna Doig officiating. Burial in Fairview Cemetery in the spring. Born March 1, 1922, in Burlington, VT, she was a daughter of the late Henry & Ann (Hutchins) Cook. She was a graduate of Canton High School and had worked in Clark's Grocery Store for 10 years, at the St. Lawrence County Home and retired from Canton Department of Motor Vehicles after 17 years of service. On May 27, 1973, she married Wayne H. Miller at their home on the Eddy-Pyrites Road. Dolly is survived by her husband of 42 years, Wayne H. Miller of Canton and a nephew Alton Cook of Chariton, NY. She was preceded in death by a brother, Clifford Cook. Dolly was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Canton, where she sang in the choir and was active in the Post Script Club for several years. She also enjoyed playing cards.
