Obituary of Guy Rolland Flanagan

Guy Rolland “Jake” Flanagan, 92, of 161 Northwoods Road, Hermon passed away peacefully while under the loving care of his family and Hospice.
His calling hours, funeral and Military Honors at Beech Plains Cemetery will be held privately for the family.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care of St. Lawrence Valley as they were so thoughtful and caring.
Jake was born June 13, 1931 in the town of Pierrepont a son of the late Stanley and Edna (Fifield) Flanagan. He married Lillian Waldo on June 30th 1955. The couple raised a son and three daughters and were married 68 years.
He was a custodian at Canton Central School for 30 plus years and an Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict.
Surviving are his dedicated wife Lillian of Hermon; four children: Vicky (“Bee”) Sharpstene of Clare, Kathy (“Jocko” Winnie) VanBrocklin of DeGrasse, Darlene (Doug) Matthews of Hermon and Scott (Tammy) Flanagan of Hermon; four siblings David (Diane) Flanagan, Geneva Blackmer, Jean Gollinger and Arlis Waldo; twelve grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by three sisters and three brothers.
Family was very important to Jake. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, puttering as he was a “fix-it man”, socializing and family gatherings.
