Obituary of Kathleen Ann Kenyon
Canton, NY-
Kathleen “Kathy” Ann (Barlow) Kenyon, age 76, of NY-310, Canton passed away unexpectedly at her home on Monday, November 6, 2023.
Calling hours will be Wednesday, November 8 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Lawrence Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Canton. Her funeral will begin at 10:30 AM at the funeral home on Thursday, November 9. Burial to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Canton.
Kathy born to Lawrence and Hilda (Lawrence) Barlow on May 26, 1947, in Potsdam, NY. She graduated from Potsdam High School in 1964 and later attended SUNY Potsdam and Canton ATC.
On July 26, 1986, she married her best friend Joseph Robert Kenyon in the Unitarian-Universalist Church in Canton with Rev. Max Coots as celebrant. The couple were happily married 37 years and would often sit and reflect over morning coffee.
Kathy retired from P&C in Canton where she worked for 15 years. She had also worked at Loblaws and the Townhouse Restaurant in Potsdam.
In addition to her husband “Joe”, she is survived by her three children Dawn (Tom) Grieco of Blossvale, NY, Brian (Pam) Gary of Parishville, NY and Dianna Duquette of Rutland, VT; Bonus children Shelly Kenyon of Madrid, NY, Chris (Jill) Kenyon of New Orleans, LA and Tracy (Jason) Robert of Canton, NY; seven brothers and sisters Lawrence Barlow of Parishville, NY, Ronald (Cathy) Barlow of The Villages, FL, Steve (Barb) Barlow of Ogdensburg, NY, Richard (Nancy) Barlow of Norfolk, NY, Robert (Sue Vought) Barlow of Brooksville, FL, Marijean (Terry) Remington of Canton, NY and Linda (Bill) White of Norwood, NY and many special nieces and nephews. She is also survived buy her beloved grandchildren and their families: Devin – Gavin and Keaton; Brielle- Isaac, Kali and Jude; Hayley; Kelli- Ryleighn and Johnny; Nicole- Tripp, Briggs and Axul; Justin; Jordon- Kaleb and Landon; Jaidlyn- Silas and Zohayla; Cecelia and Elaina.
She was predeceased by siblings Wayne Barlow, Julia Bump, William Barlow and Jan Barlow, as well as a great-granddaughter Cyra Adia Dempsey.
When Kathy was younger, she enjoyed fishing and playing BINGO with her siblings. At home you could often find her reading, crafting and baking. She also enjoyed playing cards with her kids and grandkids. Many memories were made during these times. As she got older one of her favorite things to do was beating her other best friend, Marijean, at a sometimes-friendly game on POGO.
Kathy enjoyed working with Joe in their famous flower gardens which were often featured in local newspapers. The couple were active SLU Hockey fans often traveling to watch games.
Being lucky in life, Kathy never missed a chance to continue her luck at a Casino, whether it be near or far, with friends and family. Kathy lived a full life and was loved by many.
