Gerard “Rod” Tozzi, 74, of Main Street, Canton died Wednesday, March 6, 2024 at Canton-Potsdam Hospital.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, March 15 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Lawrence Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Canton.  Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, March 16 at 11:00 AM in St. Mary’s Church, Canton with Rev. Bryan Stitt as celebrant.

Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Rod was born a son of the late George and Frances Salvia Tozzi in Brooklyn, NY on August 18, 1949.  He received a B.S. degree from Duquesne University, a Masters from University of Texas and an M.B.A. degree from George Washington University.

Rod retired as a Lieutenant Colonel in the US Army in Washington, DC.  He served his country in various capacities throughout his 20 year career.

On June 6, 1981 he married Stephanie Pluskota in St. Augustine Church in West Allis, WI.  The couple were married nearly 43 years.

Rod is survived by his wife Stephanie of Canton; a brother John (Mary) Tozzi of Reno, NV; a sister Marianne (Shelby) Hill of Columbia, SC; one niece; two nephews; six grand nieces; and one grand nephew.

Rod enjoyed hunting, target shooting, travel and his English Springer Spaniels- “Kopy Cat-Y” and “Kitten”.
