So sorry to learn about Lennie"s passing. We met her in AL. about ten years ago and then visited her or met in Clayton a couple times. We talked during the winter at some point and were going to hook up again in warmer weather. I never thought to check the obituaries when I couldn't reach her. We're so very sorry for your loss of this wonderful,
caring lady. She was blessed with a wonderful life and a family she cherished. May she rest in peace with that beautiful smile. Ken and Jean Bidwell

One of my favorite memories of Lenny was playing softball. Many years ago, a group of women connected to St Lawrence University through work or as alumni, got together to form a softball team. We competed in one of the local women’s leagues. Lennie was our star third baseman. But she was really famous for her hitting. When Lennie came up to bat, the opposing coaches would signal their fielders to start running deeper in the field. Still, She would bash the first pitch over their heads, and run to first base. Our coaches would shout “Lenny, keep running, they are still chasing the ball.” Lenny would reply, “I just got here , I’ll take a break, and then take second.” Rest in peace Lenny.

Len was one of our wonderful classmates in those elementary school days at RLS. My friends and I found our way to the Bobbitt's front yard on so many occasions. There she was, laughing and teasing us all, and jumping on our bikes.
In the 1950s at Grandview High School we joined together with Alan and Anita and entertained at many school functions. Len always set the bar for us, music, sports academics, she was a wonderful leader - and a wonderful person to all. I feel blessed to have been her friend. God Bless !

1991 I was that kid that most might have given up on. Mrs. McKinnon was different. She never once reminded me of the circumstances of my life, rather she reminded me of how beautiful my circumstances could be if I put the work in to it. God Speed Beautiful Lady!
My biggest condolences to her cherished family,

Mrs. McKinnon was a larger than life type of a person! She played such a huge roll in her students lives. Her energy was unmatched in the classroom. She taught me so much that I have used in my everyday life and my job! She expected you to be better, do better and want better for yourself. Such a strong personality and vivaciousness. I credit her for my ability and love of reading and truly understanding the written words. I became a secretary and the language/vocabulary, the ability to spell correctly and use words in the correct context. My ability to present myself professionally and to speak and project my feelings firmly or eloquently depending on the scenario, all because of Mrs. McKinnon’s teaching! She had a smile on her face and a shiny sparkle in her eyes! She was always “present” when you were with her and made you feel heard. She came to my wedding and my retirement party. She was always a part of who I am. She will be missed by so many. Thank you Mrs. McKinnon for just being who you were!

We were at our Granddaughters ball game the other day in the field by the old school and I was telling my son I had English class in that room right there. Mrs. McKinnon was my English teacher, and I never missed her class unless I was sick or unless I was sick because it was my day to do a SPEECH. Well, the next day class, she would say to me, so you thought you'd get out of your speech well todays your day. She was one of a kind and knew how to get the job done with a smile i might add.

Mrs. McKinnon was a very special teacher at Knox Memorial. I loved her.
She taught us so much about school and life. Seeing her recently, she said to me..' you know, everytime I see someone from your family (there were eight of us) I feel like I am home.' Our prayers go out to her family.

Mrs. McKinnon what can I say....you were the best teacher at KMCS. You added life to each and every student (whether they knew it or not), some loved to argue with you but in the end, they knew you were right. You showed compassion and understanding as well as discipline. You will forever be missed. I'm positive you are off to better things. My deepest condolences to your family.

We are sending our heartfelt sympathy, condolences, and prayers for the loss of Lennelle. Lennie was a wonderful friend, beloved family member, and an excellent English teacher. Her friendship and caring made each of us a better person, and filled us all with happy memories.
The first thing I noticed about Lennie was her big smile. She had an infectious laugh and was usually the life of the party. She showed us that no matter how hard life can be, we must learn from its lessons every day and embrace every moment.

Michael, Kitty, Christy and Family,
I recently had a wonderful breakfast with your mom when I was back in Canton in February. For every trip I took after graduation, Lennie was always at the top of the visit list and we had been hoping for a Florida visit as well. (Ellenton is just a few miles from our home in Lakewood Ranch). My dad and Bernie were hockey teammates at both Hamden High School and St. Lawrence… That relationship led me to meeting Lennie many years ago. I loved her very much, often thinking of her as a second mother and my deepest condolences to all of you, your families, and to Lennie’s many friends.

Condolences to all who love her, especially her family (blood or chosen).
There are not enough words to say how much this wonderful soul has impacted so many of us to become who we are. She was a shining star, bright cheery, fiery, and even kindly strong when we needed it (5 STAR teacher in my eyes)!! You not only saw her, but you felt her energy in so many ways...I loved that about her. I picture her with her hands on her hips, stretching back to keep her straight, strong and ready to handle ‘us’...and she was! I do that now because of her.
It was in her English class is where I learned the importance of brushing my tongue (Right Rosemary?). So many happy thoughts when I think of our beloved Mrs. McKinnon.
Those who know me well, I wasn’t her best student but loved her, how she understood and treated us all equally, yet as individuals (incredibly wise woman). You will be missed dearly, thank you for being you and on to bigger, better things. This picture was one of the last times I saw her.
Try not to let the sadness win over the wonderful thing she gave us.
Shine on Mrs. McKinnon
