Mr. Jones & Family - I am so very sorry to learn of Mrs. Jones' passing. I have many fond memories of her from home economics, including the first dress I ever stitched, all thanks to her. She was a wonderful teacher who had a profound impact on so very many students (as did you!). My sincere condolences to you and your family. God bless - Nancy Peggs

Mrs. Jones was a wonderful teacher - I have used my Home-Ec skills my whole life - although I never warmed up to sewing, I have a clear memory of the beach coverup I made, (stretch terry cloth and a zipper were pretty ambitious!) and just recently was telling stories of the class. It takes someone special to make such an impact. My condolences to her extended family - may you find comfort in our and your collective memories. Susan (Van Auken) Marancik

My condolences to the Jones family. Mrs. Jones had such an impact on so many students at Canton Central School. I still never see a zucchini without thinking of Mrs. Jones and the zucchini pickles she taught us to make so many years ago. The patience she had with us as we learned to cook and sew was tremendous. What a great teacher she was. I am very sorry for your loss and will be thinking of all of you as you go through this difficult time. I hope knowing she had an impact on so many people provides some solace.

I will always remember the fun times in home economics - where I learned how to cook and how not to cook. It was a fun class and I also learned an appreciation for sewing too. She was a delightful teacher.

It was the fall of 1978 when I was placed with Nancy as my cooperating teacher for student teaching. Boy was I one lucky girl. Nancy was an amazing teacher, mentor and friend. She took me to teaching heights I never thought imaginable. She was gentle and kind and a wonderful leader. She shared her family with me and was even there when my fiancé got accepted to the St. Lawrence University graduate program and I got my first teaching job at Madrid-Waddington JrSr high school. I will miss her dearly. She will always live on in my heart as one of the best. Love you Nancy❤️

What a great lady! I am very for your loss of Mrs. Jones. My memory of her goes back to 1966, and home economics, she then was Miss Richey. She would smile easily, but also give us the "look" with those brown eyes! So many have been blessed to have known her.

Mrs. Jones was always a kind and loving teacher. She taught me how to sew and to make a mean batch of applesauce. She may have been little but she was fierce… no one fooled around in Home Ec or you would get that look… but she also was the first one to give you a smile and compliment you on your hair or own smile, just to brighten your day. She was one of a kind!

Some of my earliest memories of Nancy were while attending St. Mary's school. You would never quite know where she might pop up but you knew you would be greeted with the kindest smile and most gentle demeanor. Nancy reappeared in my life when I began dating Rob. At games I could always count on her to tell him what she thought as he officiated, but after the games she would squeeze my arm and apologize..ha ha To Rob, she was a second mom, and throughout our years together we could always count on Nancy sending a card and a thoughtful note during tough times and being genuinely happy for us during the good times. We both will cherish our memories of Nancy and send prayers for comfort and peace for all who are grieving. Heaven will be a bit more gentle and faith filled with Nancy there. Fondly, Rob and Jen
