Obituary of Ronald Peter Dunn

Canton, NY-

Ronald “Ronnie” Peter Dunn, 86, of County Route 29, Canton died Friday, November 22, 2024 surrounded by his loving family at Rochester Regional Hospital.

Calling hours will be Tuesday, November 26  from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM with a funeral service to follow at Lawrence Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Canton.  Additional off-street parking is available behind “LUNA” at 18 Park Street.

Burial will be held at a later date in Morley Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers Memorial contributions are suggested to Morley Wesleyan Church,  Morley Cemetery Association or Hospice & Palliative Care of St. Lawrence Valley.

Ronnie was born August 16, 1938 in Ogdensburg, NY.   He was a son of the late Lawrence and Ruth (Myers) Dunn and attended Madrid High School.

On November 3, 1962 he married Roxanna Liscum in the Morley Church Parsonage.  The couple just celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary.

Ronnie was a truck driver and more specifically a milk hauler for 50 years.  He started out doing a can route and then with Harry Lawrence and retiring from Ray Burns & Sons Trucking.

In addition to his wife Roxanna, he is survived by a son Gregory (Lori) Dunn of Waddington; three daughters Lori (David) Smith of Canton, Cindi Perkins of Morley and Kelly (Roger) Jackson of Depeyster; a brother Kenny Dunn of WA and a sister Janet Day of FL; eleven grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his twin sister Rita Sanderson, a sister Linda Hurlbut, an infant son Timothy Dunn and a son-in-law Mike Perkins.

Ronnie was a member of Morley Fire Department for 40 years where he served as Chief for 25 of those years.  He was also a huge fan of country music, attending a number of shows and often times traveling the US to see his favorite artists.
