Dear Ordway family,
I wanted to say I am truly sorry for your loss. You don't know me, but when I was reading through the obituaries in the Watertown Daily times, I thought the obituary of Mr. Ordway was especially sad. It looks like he was a good man and he left a lot of family behind. If I may, I would like to share some things that have helped me when I have gone through difficult things such as losing someone I love.
The Bible speaks of death as an enemy. (1 Co 15:26) It is not something God purposed for us. What is more, the Bible also speaks of death as something temporary. In Hosea 13:14, it says, "From the power of the Grave, I will redeem them; From death I will recover them. Where are your stings, O Death? Where is your destructiveness, O Grave?" I heard death once spoken of in comparison to the comma in a sentence as opposed to a period. It is simply a pause in a person's life, not the end of it all.
In the meantime, a scripture I have found to be true for my family and I is in Isaiah 41:10. It says, "'Do not be afraid, for I am with you. Do not be anxious, for I am your God. I will fortify you, yes, I will help you, I will really hold on to you with my right hand of righteousness.'" My dad used to have that verse on a sticky note on a mirror and it really proved true for us then and even now.
I hope you and your family are holding up well and that maybe the verses that helped me will help you as well!
Best wishes,
Shae

Joyce and family.....So very sorry to hear of Rogers passing. He endured so much pain and told me he lived a good life and was ready to move on. I will miss running into him especially in Walmart where I usually saw him. Sending prayers to you and your family.
