Obituary of James S. Andes, II

Canton--

James S. Andes, II, 53, of State Street, Canton, died tragically Monday, December 11, 2017 in an automobile accident.

He leaves behind, his beloved wife, Peggy and two young children, William and Julia of Canton; loving sister, Jennifer Vera Anderson and husband Chuck of Falls Church, VA; and a number of cousins.

Jim was born April 27, 1964, in Seattle, WA, the son of the late, James S., I & Joan (Benjamin) Andes.  He received his B.A. from Manhattanville College and his M.B.A. from NYU Stearns School of Business.  He then went on to receive his law degree from PACE University School of Law, White Plains, NY.

Jim ran a private practice attorney's office in Canton.  Previously he worked for Selective Ins. Co. in White Plains, six years as a public defender in Louisiana and as an assistant district attorney for St. Lawrence County.  He loved working in law.  He was a dedicated husband and father and worked very hard for his family, as well as, his clients.

On July 9, 2004, he married his life partner, Margaret Julia "Peggy" Clarke, in the South Salem, NY Presbyterian Church.  They were married nearly 13 and one half years.

Jim was a member of the American BAR Assoc, the NY State BAR Assoc., the LA State BAR Assoc., Criminal Law Assoc Chapter in NY and the First Baptist Church, Canton, NY.

Some of his interests were, hiking and walking; he was an avid reader of books and the Bible; he enjoyed play time with his son, William.  He loved his wife and children immensely.  He was a good honest family man and loving husband.

The family will received friends on Friday, December 15th from 4-8 PM at Lawrence Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 21 Park Street, Canton.  Additional off-street parking is available behind "LUNA" 19 Park Street.  His funeral will be Saturday, December 16th at 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church, Main Street, Canton with Pastor Fred Sykes officiaitng.  Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Canton.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the First Baptist Church or to the family.
