Still can not believe this. Dave Wight was one of the kindest, happiest, and of course, most laid-back gentlemen we have known. He taught me a lot about navigating 81 through those nasty storms. You will all be in our thoughts and prayers. Rest in Peace Treetop from your friend Perrydawg, Laura, Jacob and Jordan.

Beth, Earl, Lois and family, Hard to think my good friend is gone. I will remember that great times we had growing up together. The sleep overs as kids, the junior bowling leagues, the fishing trip with our dads up in Canada and when we get a little older (maybe not much wiser!) the parties at the house in high school. The comfort we have now is to know David is not in anymore pain and he is in a better place. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Oh my goodness, sad news indeed. Dave was one of the happiest and nicest gentleman we have ever met, ever. A permanent smile (perfect pic!), and always a kind word or a quip (or both). And as lifelong friends of yours 'Beck', it was always easy to see why you and 'Earl' were such fantastic friends. What a great team! He will be missed by all. Our hearts go out to you and Bridget. Whatever we can do.....

Beth, Bridget, Earl, and Lois; I don't know how to say how sorry I am for the loss of Dave. He surely will be missed. As I reflect back on some of my memories, I can say some of the best times growing up in the mills, Dave was in them. Be it hunting or fishing at Rainbow with big Earl, running his V.W. bug through Cedar's corn fields, building and hanging out at Camp Smoke A-lot,or doing a little drinking, anywhere and everywhere. It's too bad as we grow up, have family's, and move on, we seem to lose the close contact we once had with our OLD BUDDIES. DAVE, I sure will miss ya, but will remember the good times we had. See you at Isham.

David was a student of mine in the early 1970's. I also taught his daughter in 4th grade. During the ice storm, David brought water to my home just up a bit further on Route. 68 before heading up the hill. He was a very kind, polite student and adult as I knew him when his daughter went through the Middle School. I am saddened to hear of his death. I am retired over 10 years now and am living in Port Orange, FL just south of Daytona. May memories of David be of comfort at this difficult time and knowing others are thinking of you.
