Dear Loved Ones, and My Neighbor,
I am so sorry to hear the news about your recent loss of a loved family member.
With my sincere condolences, I write you today. Your family are in my thoughts
and prayers. I am sending you lots of love, and comfort and a sincere hope that
you can find peace at this hurtful time. Remember, Jesus even shed tears for his
friend “Lazarus" in the Bible so death is a very hurtful enemy of the living.
(Revelation 21:1-4)
I found comfort with my mothers lost by reading scriptures. I received a letter
same as this one, with a similar message. I found reading and searching for God
and his promises helped. I visited a website (JW.ORG) and It is full of
scriptures of Hope and information about the Bible. I loved the resurrection
hope. I am sure you will as well.
With all my prayers to all your loved ones
Sincerely Yours,
Helen West

Dear Bev and family,
My deepest condolences to you all. Canton has lost a great resident. I am sure he will be missed by many. I still have remember when he was our driver/chaperone for the field trip to the Syracuse Salt Museum and Chuckie Cheese when Kim was in my fifth grade class. The children and staff loved George. May God give you help through this difficult time.

Beverly, Kim, Jack and family,
I was saddened to hear that George passed away.
Please except my sincere condolences and sympathy at this time. George always used to like to tease me whenever he would see me. I really enjoyed the conversations we used to have even though they were short. George was such a nice man. May he rest in peace. He is in my prayers. God Bless all of you and may he comfort you during this trying time.
Always

George was both a character and a gentleman. Every student who passed through Canton Central was richer for his kind words, wide smile and devotion to the community. His warm-hearted concern when you had to go to the funeral home was also a tribute to the man. Every good community has at least a few members running through like girders, solid and strong, but often unnoticed in their support. Canton just lost another one. I hope that George's family receives the love and support that he would have offered and the knowledge of our love and respect provide some comfort.

So sorry to hear of your loss. I'm a graduate of Hugh C Williams class of 91. George was a friendly soft spoken man. Always a smile and a tinkle in his eye. He brought a smile to the face of anybody that he encountered. So sad to hear of his passing. May you rest in peace George.

I am so sorry for your loss of such a dear man and wanted to share a memory with you all. George drove my late bus when I was at CHS. I loved chatting with him every day. He was so friendly and always seemed interested in my topic of choice. One Friday afternoon in 1980 I remember him asking my friend and I if we were attending the dance that evening. He of course was working as security. We both expressed that we wanted to but neither of our parents (farmers) were free to give us a ride to the dance. George then, out of the kindness of his heart, offered to drive 5 miles out of town, pick us both up and deliver us to the dance as long as we could get a ride home. We were sure that could be arranged. So he gave us a time to be ready and he came as he said he would and drove the two of us to that dance so we could have fun! He was such a sweet, kind man and had a great heart! He will forever hold a special place in mine.

The Casserly's send their thoughts on what George was to many students. He had a great life and I always felt the Casserly kids were safe when he was around. His love of his family always showed and one of the great men in Canton's history has left, but his reputation and humbleness will always be remembered. Linda, John, Keith, Jesse, Dakota Mariah & even Justin.

In 2006, our family had a mix-up of schedules. I believed my husband was picking up our daughter at school and my husband believed I was picking her up. George sat with my daughter, Sophie, in his truck, helping her with homework and consoling her. I raced to the school (it was 7p.m.!) to get her, once I realized she was not at home. George was so kind and compassionate. He had such kind words and I will never forget his big heart!

I am heartbroken for your family. Marci is my oldest friend and I vividly remember our days playing at her grandparents house and seeing Pa smiling at our antics. I also fondly remember his constant smile and wave as the busses pulled away at Canton Central school, where everybody loved and adored him. There's a photo of a student hugging George in our yearbook and it is what I remember about his kindness toward all those rambunctious kids during the mass exodus at the end of the school day. his involvement in everything Canton is so commendable as he was a community legend. he will be greatly missed. my deepest sympathies....

I am so very sorry to hear about the loss of such a great person, he was always such a wonderful man to talk to when i was in school and i know im not the only student who looked for his smile regularly before getting on the bus. The community and all who have had the pleasure of knowing him in some small way have all been made richer by having him in our lives.
