Obituary of Thomas Frank
Canton, NY-
Thomas A. “Tom” Frank, Sr., 75, of Farmer Street, Canton passed away at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester while in the company of his loving family on Wednesday, January 10, 2024.
Calling hours will be Monday, January 15 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Lawrence Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Canton with The Elks Lodge performing their service at 6:45 PM. His funeral will be Tuesday, January 16 at 11:00 AM at the funeral home with Deacon Jim Snell officiating. Additional off street parking is available behind “LUNA” at 18 Park Street.
Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Canton in the Spring.
Tom was born in Canton, NY a son of the late Lallo and Beulah M. (Cotter) Frank on April 29, 1949. He graduated Canton High School in 1968 where he played hockey, soccer and ran track. He was named All Northern for his time in hockey. He graduated SUNY Canton in 1970.
On July 29, 1989 he married Pamela Boise in the Brick Chapel Church with Kathleen Martin as celebrant. The couple were married 35 years. He was previously married to Cynthia Mousaw.
Upon graduating SUNY Canton, Tom took a position at Corning in Canton. He retired as a Metrologist after 32 years.
Surviving are his wife Pamela Frank of Canton; his son T.J. Frank and wife Lori of Canton; his daughter Tammy “Bird” Usher and husband Chuck of Torrington, CT; five grandchildren Brandon Bolesh, Zachary Frank, Nathan Bolesh, Bradley Frank and Celia Usher; his siblings Mike and Janyce Frank of Canton, Cindy Sheridan and Jeff Ashley of Madrid and Randy and Lisa Frank of Canton; sister-in-law Jane Frank of OK; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his older brother Joseph Frank in 2021 and his nephew Shawn Sheridan in 2023.
Tom was a member of the Canton Lions Club where he served as President and received the Governor’s Award. He also ran the concession stand for the Lion’s Club during the Dairy Princess Parade for a number of years. He was a PeeWee Hockey Coach, played Ol’ Timers Softball, participated in the Corning Canoe Races with John Hill, and was the camp cook for the Rock Pond Hunting Club.
First and foremost Tom loved his family! He was also a passionate golfer, who loved playing with his grandsons, for Dave’s Golf League and the H.A.C.L. Tournament. He enjoyed wintering in Florida, hunting and the men he hunted with. Tom was always ready to lend a helping hand. He will surely be missed by all.
